General Accountability
Responsible for processing claims transactions; entering data into the General Insurance System (GIS); and maintaining filing systems. Provides administrative support to the claims team and performs reception duties.
Key Accountabilities

Claims Support
Opens and assigns new claims files and maintains accurate claim log for the unit
Distributes mail and faxes to the appropriate claims and notifies file handlers.
Manages the auto/injury claims email and provide timely response to inquiries and new claims.
Reception Duties
Provides telephone inquiry support for the branch, providing answers and recommendations for a large volume of simple inquiries
Acts as the first point of contact for all branch visitors.
Interprets the needs of telephone inquiries and walk-in customers and direct them to the appropriate company representative.
Administrative Support
Maintains filing systems.
Provides administrative support to the branch and regional management.
Administers the mail/courier services for the branch.

Actively contributes to and supports a culture of a high performing workforce.
Participates in divisional succession plans, ensuring ongoing professional and career development and supports development of others.
Supports a culture of leadership and accountability to effectively deliver on strategic and corporate strategies.
Is actively committed to leadership development across the company, supporting team and workforce readiness through mentoring, training and developmental opportunities.
Corporate Management
Enables the success of programs and policies that are in alignment with corporate, strategies and divisional strategies.
Manages risk in area of authority.
Ensures that the Health, Safety and Emergency Management Policy is applied in area of responsibility.
Education & Experience
Grade 12/GED
6 months – 1 year experience in an office environment.
Knowledge, Skill & Abilities
Knowledge of office procedures and office equipment.
Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Word and Excel.
Knowledge of procedures and practices in business operations.
Knowledge of claims procedures.
Knowledge of the principles and practice of insurance.
