About the Role
As ATCO’s Benefits Advisor, you’ll be at the centre of how we care for our people, ensuring the delivery of domestic and international benefit programs. You’ll bring data-driven insights into renewals and cost planning, translate complex plan details into clear employee communications, and partner closely with Finance, HR, Communications, and external vendors to ensure benefit plans are delivered in alignment with contractual obligations. What You Get to Do:
• Serve as the benefits specialist across domestic and global benefit programs (including inpatriate/expatriate populations)
• Keep plans compliant with legislation, internal policies, and vendor/contract requirements
• Lead key aspects of benefit programs operations, including analyzing program costs, guiding annual renewals through planning and execution and advocating for members.
• Turn complex plan details into clear, engaging communications and education for employees and stakeholders
• Advocate for employees by resolving complex benefit escalations with sound judgement and strong service focus
• Monitor disability bank accounts and related payroll/premium transactions to ensure accuracy and funding integrity
• Use claims and utilization insights to spot risk, recommend plan improvements, and support audits/change initiatives
• Coordinate data, reporting, and deliverables with consultants and partners
• Partner with HRBPs, Finance, Communications, and vendors to keep processes, interfaces, and timelines on track
• Support and enable strong vendor performance and contract adherence, resolve issues and drive continuous improvement and simplification initiatives
What You Bring:
• Undergraduate degree in Arts, Commerce, Science, or related degree
• 5+ years of experience supporting group benefits programs, preferably in a complex, multi plan and/or multi-jurisdictional environment
• Comprehensive group benefits experience includes plan administration, renewals, employee support, vendor management and issue resolution
• Strong working knowledge of legislation and government programs with respect to benefits and wellness
• Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail
• Clear communicator with strong presentation skills
• Highly organized and able to juggle priorities and tight deadlines
• Exceptional customer focus with strong professional acumen
• Dedicated team player, who demonstrates initiative and independence
• Solid understanding of Microsoft Office
• Experience with HR systems, systems interfacing, and external vendors are assets
• Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation is an asset
