Position Summary
Reporting to the Team Lead, Marketing Accounting, this position is responsible for the monthly accounting for natural gas liquids trading activity.
Tasks and Responsibilities
• Accurate and timely settlement and processing of physical NGL Marketing transactions.
• Settlement and processing of financial transactions.
• Verifying inputs and outputs for accurate accruals.
• Liaise between front office, middle office and management to develop and maintain flow of information.
• Complete reconciliations of various general ledger accounts.
• Assist with the compilation and filing of various regulatory reports.
• Reconcile margin on a monthly basis to provide an in depth understanding to operations of the financial results of their business and ensure accuracy of reported results.
• Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
• Bachelor's Degree (Commerce, Business Administration or related discipline) preferred
• 3+ Years related experience preferred
• professional accounting designation or working towards designation (CPA or CFA) preferred
• Previous experience with NGL Marketing would be considered an asset.
• Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills - written and verbal. Candidate must be able to work with teams with varying backgrounds, and to communicate to leadership.
• Able to work under pressure with minimal supervision, have a strong attention to detail and be able to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent excel skills.
• Knowledge of Allegro, JD Edwards and Power BI considered an asset.
