Overview: Derlago Wealth Management at Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management is a division of Canaccord Genuity Corp., Member of the Canadian Investor Protection Fund and Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO). We are seeking a motivated and client-focused Associate Wealth Advisor to join our Calgary-based advisory team. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with an experienced Senior Wealth Advisor who takes a comprehensive, planning-first approach to wealth management. The ideal candidate is passionate about financial planning, eager to grow their expertise, and committed to delivering meaningful advice to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate in the development and delivery of holistic financial plans across seven key areas: cash flow, wealth management, risk management, tax planning, estate planning, philanthropy, and value-added services;
- Participate in client meetings and contribute to the discovery, planning, and implementation process;
- Prepare financial planning documents, investment proposals, and follow-up communications;
- Conduct research and analysis to support recommendations tailored to clients with complex financial needs, including business owners and professionals with corporations;
- Assist in managing client relationships and ensuring a high standard of service and responsiveness;
- Engage in continuous learning and development, including pursuing relevant designations (CFP);
- Support business development activities and contribute to the growth of the practice.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in financial services, preferably in a senior associate or wealth advisor capacity with experience in planning and/or advice capacity;
- Experience in Accounting or Life Insurance would be an asset;
- CIRO Licensed as a Registered Representative;
- Strong interest in becoming a Financial Planner and working in an advice-based role;
- Progress toward or completion of financial planning designations (CFP or QAFP) is an asset;
- Excellent communication skills and a client-first mindset;
- Ability to work collaboratively and learn from senior professionals;
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
