Overview:  Derlago Wealth Management at Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management is a division of Canaccord Genuity Corp., Member of the Canadian Investor Protection Fund and Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO). We are seeking a motivated and client-focused Associate Wealth Advisor to join our Calgary-based advisory team. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with an experienced Senior Wealth Advisor who takes a comprehensive, planning-first approach to wealth management. The ideal candidate is passionate about financial planning, eager to grow their expertise, and committed to delivering meaningful advice to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in the development and delivery of holistic financial plans across seven key areas: cash flow, wealth management, risk management, tax planning, estate planning, philanthropy, and value-added services;
  • Participate in client meetings and contribute to the discovery, planning, and implementation process;
  • Prepare financial planning documents, investment proposals, and follow-up communications;
  • Conduct research and analysis to support recommendations tailored to clients with complex financial needs, including business owners and professionals with corporations;
  • Assist in managing client relationships and ensuring a high standard of service and responsiveness;
  • Engage in continuous learning and development, including pursuing relevant designations (CFP);
  • Support business development activities and contribute to the growth of the practice.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial services, preferably in a senior associate or wealth advisor capacity with experience in planning and/or advice capacity;
  • Experience in Accounting or Life Insurance would be an asset;
  • CIRO Licensed as a Registered Representative;
  • Strong interest in becoming a Financial Planner and working in an advice-based role;
  • Progress toward or completion of financial planning designations (CFP or QAFP) is an asset;
  • Excellent communication skills and a client-first mindset;
  • Ability to work collaboratively and learn from senior professionals;
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
