Reporting to the Manager, Data and Cloud Compute Services, the Product Manager is responsible for the overall product vision, strategy, and execution.  The Azure Product Manager will establish the long-term direction for specific products or features within Azure, ensuring they align with user needs and business goals. The Product Manager will operationally support and evolve the products launched. This is a business centric role, working to translate the needs of the business into the right solutions, so strong business acumen is highly desired.  In addition, the Product Manager may be accountable for managing delivery of certain projects within the assigned product.

Accountabilities include but are not limited to:

Product Management:

  • Act as the product owner for Azure services, driving the vision, roadmap, and backlog prioritization for the platform.

  • Define and communicate the Azure product strategy aligned with organizational goals.

  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of Azure services, ensuring availability, performance, compliance, and user satisfaction.

  • Monitor Azure consumption, optimize licensing/spend, and partner with Finance for budgeting, forecasting, and chargebacks.

  • Ensure Azure solutions align with security, compliance, and data residency policies.

  • Drive improvements to deployment automation, monitoring, and support processes using Azure-native tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Azure Policy).

  • Manage roadmap and backlog for Azure services.

  • Lead product teams to accomplish desired business outcomes.

  • Oversee and manage requirements discovery, solution design, user story writing, feature development, and user acceptance testing.

  • Partner with cross functional teams regularly to ensure alignment on feature development and prioritization.

  • Monitor and evaluate product performance to ensure constant product iteration and improvements.

  • Accountable for product change communication and learning.

  • Prepare Business Case, as required.

  • Facilitate IT Release, Change and Configuration management.

  • Lead Incident and Problem management pertaining to the product.

  • Develop and grow product Teams to meet business needs.

Project Delivery:

  • Ensure project plans for the product (Azure) are fit for purpose and will deliver within constraints, mitigate risks, and achieve expected quality.

  • Deliver artifacts to support SDLC initiation and approval processes.

  • Identify and manage project dependencies with other programs and managers.

  • Identify and manage resource constraints keeping the project team focused and on track.

  • Facilitate seamless project delivery, communicating and working with managers and process owners to ensure efficient and productive continuous alignment.

  • Manage stakeholder expectations and meet or exceed with delivery.

  • Manage risks and issues actively with stakeholder.

  • Manage and report project key status indicators (budget, schedule, risks).

What you’ll bring to us:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Completion of a post-secondary Diploma in Information Technology, Business or Engineering (or equivalent)

  • An acceptable combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure architecture, services (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS), and management tools.

  • Proven experience leading cloud transformation initiatives or Azure product rollouts in medium to large organizations.

  • Solid understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (e.g., ARM, Bicep, Terraform).

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, cloud platform management or IT service delivery.

  • 7+ years of experience in project management.

  • Solid understanding of systems delivery methodologies including waterfall, iterative and agile is essential.

  • Solid understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) is an asset.

  • Utilities industry background is an asset.

  • Azure certifications such as AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-305, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (Nice to have).

  • Experience with hybrid cloud strategies or integrating Azure with on-prem environments. (Nice to have).

  • Familiarity with Azure governance frameworks, Azure API Management, and cost management tools (Nice to have).
