Job Description:

Dietary Aide - Casual/on-call position

RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the dietary aide will assist the cook with the coordinating and functioning of the dietary needs of the residents and families of Agapé Hospice in accordance with the Hospice philosophy.
•    Assists cook with coordination of food preparation and service in the kitchen;
•    Assists cook with preparation of sufficient amounts of food for residents, guests and catered functions according to established menu rotation;
•    Stores perishable food and avoids waste as per established guidelines;
•    Cleans and sanitizes equipment, carts, pans, pots, and dishes, serving areas, tables and trays;
•    Operates basic equipment including the dishwasher;
•    Ensures cleanliness of cooking equipment as well as work area through established cleaning and sanitation practices.

The successful applicant will preferably have a High School education or equivalent, completion of WHMIS, food handling and safety training required (completed within the last 2 years), CPR, and First Aid, and valid Police/VSC check.

This is a casual/relief position with no set schedule or hours. Shifts could be anytime from 9am - 6:30 p.m. on any day of the week.
 

Compensation:

The target hiring range for this position is $22.03 to $23.02 with a maximum of $24.01.

Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
