About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Vice President, Investor Relations & Internal Audit, this role supports Cenovus's Investor Relations program and plays a key role in communicating the company's business strategy, financial performance, and outlook to the investment community in a clear, consistent, and compelling manner. The Analyst is responsible for preparing investor presentations and communication materials, conducting financial and shareholder analysis, monitoring equity research, and supporting investor engagement activities. This position works closely with stakeholders across all levels of the organization and interacts regularly with members of the investment community, including investment professionals, analysts, and portfolio managers.

What you’ll do:

  • Support the development and communication of Cenovus's shareholder value proposition in partnership with the Investor Relations team, senior leadership, and business stakeholders.

  • Facilitate clear, consistent, and effective communication between company executives and the investment community.

  • Collaborate with External Financial Reporting and Communications teams to deliver key Investor Relations materials, including earnings releases, quarterly reports, conference calls, investor presentations, and the Annual General Meeting.

  • Respond to investor and analyst inquiries regarding the company's financial, operational, and strategic performance.

  • Prepare presentations, briefing materials, and reports for senior leadership and the Board of Directors.

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models to support investor and analyst engagement activities.

  • Monitor shareholder activity, analyze ownership trends, and provide reporting and insights to support investor outreach strategies.

  • Track, analyze, and summarize equity research, market commentary, and industry developments relevant to Cenovus.

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in Investor Relations, capital markets, equity research, corporate finance, or other financial/investment-focused roles.

  • Professional designation such as CPA, CFA, or P.Eng. is considered an asset.

  • Strong financial, investment, and analytical skills, with a solid understanding of capital markets and business fundamentals.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare, edit, and deliver professional presentations and reports.

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, including financial modeling, analysis, and data visualization.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
