Benevity’s Manager of Financial Operations will lead the Back-End Processing team supporting our Partner Foundations, ensuring reliable and effective processes and fostering team success. This role involves overseeing team performance, executing financial operations, and driving process and product efficiencies through cross-team collaboration.
The ideal candidate will excel at enabling high team performance, offering constructive feedback, and promoting continuous improvement in operations. Based in Calgary, this role offers a hybrid work option; relocation is required for candidates outside the area.
What you’ll do:
- Lead a team of business administrators, specialists and analysts to help facilitate over $3.5B in donations annually
- Partner with Benevity teams to enhance efficiency and foster cross-team collaboration, removing barriers to progress
- Manage major cross-team projects to develop and implement scalable protocols and processes
- Engage with clients to gather feedback on funding and financial operations, improving team and company solutions
- Lead the development and maintenance of back-end transaction processing systems for optimal performance and reliability
- Implement strong security measures to protect transaction data and ensure regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with client success, engineering, finance, and AI teams to address technical issues impacting transaction processing
- Establish and enforce best practices for database management, tax receipting, and operational reporting
- Conduct regular system audits to evaluate workflows and implement necessary improvements
- Manage and mentor analysts, specialists, and administrators, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Engineering, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a professional environment, with people leadership experience
- Resourceful, proactive, and results-driven
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage clients and internal stakeholders to communicate goals, requirements, and solutions effectively
- Skilled in analyzing business challenges and mapping them to complex technical solutions
- Dedicated to client success and operational efficiency
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical mindset, comfortable managing and resolving diverse issues
- Independent worker with sound judgment
- Resilient and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while balancing a full workload
- Proficient in MS Office tools
- Team player with a positive attitude and sense of humor
