 Job Purpose:

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing campaigns for dmg events tradeshows and conferences. The successful candidate will be highly organized, innovative, creative, results driven and will work collaboratively with the marketing team to deliver qualified visitors, delegates, exhibitors, sponsors and media to B2B events across North America. The successful candidate for this position will possess aptitude and demonstrated experience in project management and working within budget.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Creation of clear, compelling copy for various mediums including corporate brochures, websites, advertising campaigns, and marketing emails
  • Execution of event marketing plans, marketing materials and communications including website development, advertising concepts, printed materials
  • Management of work back schedules and campaign to ensure deadlines are met
  • Collaboration with the marketing manager, and broader dmg events team (sales, operations, content, finance)
  • Maintenance of advertising schedule and ensure ads (paid and contra) are delivered on time
  • Assistance in the brand fulfilment and creation of sponsorship, advertising, and contra partnerships
  • Manage multiple social media channels for local events for the North American portfolio
  • Conduct on-going evaluations of deadlines and registration measurables
  • Participate in the onsite coordination of assigned event(s) as required
  • Lead the production of event-specific apps and usage of apps
  • Track budget expenditures
  • Lead market research and external research for the purposes of reaching into emerging markets and event launches
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 1 - 3 years marketing experience, or a marketing degree, certificate or equivalent
  • Refer to yourself as a marketing generalist and have the ability to perform tasks across the marketing function, from web/social media, to registration, to overall strategic marketing plans as required
  • Exceptional project and time management skills
  • Strong writing skills with experience writing on behalf of multiple brands with a high attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical skills – ability to assess and determine needs, requirements and priorities
  • Exemplary organization skills and be process driven
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate internally and externally
  • Trade show/conference/event experience is not required, but an asset
  • Experience in energy markets and energy sector is not required, but an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word
  • Proficiency in design platforms including Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc
