BIG Picture

We're looking for a Mechanical Pipeline EIT who wants to do more than support projects from the sidelines.

At Lauren, you'll be part of a team designing and delivering the infrastructure that keeps energy moving. From pipelines and gathering systems to compressor stations, pump stations, metering facilities, and complex tie-ins, you'll gain exposure to the engineering work that connects field operations, facilities, and pipeline systems together.

This role is ideal for someone early in their engineering career who wants broad experience across a single discipline or phase of a project. You'll work closely with experienced engineers, designers, project managers, and construction teams while contributing to real deliverables, solving real problems, and seeing how engineering decisions translate into successful project execution.

You'll have the opportunity to participate in everything from design development and technical documentation to procurement support, field execution, and commissioning. Along the way, you'll build a strong foundation in pipeline engineering, industry codes and standards, multidisciplinary coordination, and practical project delivery.

We're looking for someone who is curious, accountable, and motivated to learn. Someone who enjoys getting into the technical details, asks good questions, and takes pride in delivering quality work.

If you're looking for a place where you can grow your technical skills, gain meaningful project exposure, and build the experience needed for a successful engineering career, you'll feel at home at Lauren.

What You'll Be Doing

As part of our Mechanical and Pipeline team, you'll contribute to a variety of projects across the energy sector, supporting both pipeline and facility developments from early planning through construction and commissioning.

You may find yourself:

  • Supporting the design of pipeline systems, gathering networks, facility tie-ins, and associated infrastructure
  • Contributing to the design of valve stations, pigging facilities, metering installations, compressor stations, pump stations, and mechanical systems
  • Developing and interpreting P&IDs, pipeline schematics, line lists, and technical documentation
  • Assisting with line sizing, pressure system considerations, material selection, and engineering calculations
  • Preparing equipment datasheets, material take-offs (MTOs), Bills of Material (BOMs), and engineering deliverables
  • Participating in design reviews, constructability workshops, and multidisciplinary project meetings
  • Coordinating with process, civil, structural, electrical, and instrumentation teams to deliver integrated designs
  • Supporting procurement activities, including Material Requisitions (MRs), RFQs, Technical Bid Evaluations (TBEs), and vendor document reviews
  • Providing engineering support during construction, commissioning, field troubleshooting, and startup activities
  • Participating in field walkdowns, redline reviews, and as-built development

What You Bring

We're looking for a developing engineer who combines strong technical fundamentals with a desire to learn and grow.

Experience

  • 2+ years of engineering experience supporting pipeline, facilities, or oil and gas projects
  • Experience contributing to pipeline design, pipeline facilities engineering, or related mechanical infrastructure projects
  • Exposure to EPCM, EPC, consulting, or owner/operator environments is considered an asset
  • Experience with gathering systems, transmission pipelines, facility tie-ins, compression, pumping, or metering systems is beneficial

Technical Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of pipeline systems and mechanical engineering principles
  • Understanding of pressure piping systems and mechanical infrastructure associated with pipeline facilities
  • Familiarity with CSA Z662, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, API standards, and other applicable industry codes
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, isometrics, pipeline alignment sheets, specifications, and engineering drawings
  • Experience using AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office is an asset

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Registered or eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT)

Why Lauren

At Lauren, we don't believe in putting people in a box.

You'll have the opportunity to work across multiple types of projects, learn from experienced technical leaders, and gain exposure to the full project lifecycle.

We trust our people with meaningful work, encourage collaboration across disciplines, and believe the best learning comes from being involved in the details and seeing projects through to completion.

Here, you'll build technical expertise, develop practical engineering judgment, and contribute to projects that make a real impact for our clients.

If you're looking for a place where your ideas are valued, your growth is supported, and your work contributes to something bigger, we'd love to hear from you.
