What are we looking for?
We are looking for a talented Musical Writer (Contractor) to create a musical bedtime story designed to help our users unwind and fall asleep. The ideal candidate should have a passion for storytelling, an exceptional ability to craft soothing narratives, and an understanding of a musical’s structure.
Responsibilities
- Write an original sleepy musical designed to promote relaxation and sleep.
- Develop imaginative, slow-paced narratives with descriptive, calming language.
- Collaborate with the musical composer to integrate songs into the story.
- Revise and refine drafts based on feedback to meet tone and style guidelines.
Requirements
- Degree in creative writing, English, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- 2 years of professional experience in writing musicals or fiction (portfolio or samples required).
- Strong grasp of grammar, spelling, and English communication.
- Ability to craft engaging yet relaxing musicals with vivid descriptions and a slow pace.
- Flexibility to adapt to our brand voice and style.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience in mindfulness, sleep, or relaxation content is a plus.
Starting at $0.20 USD per word ($0.29 per word CAD), based on experience, expertise, and the scope of the project.
