The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced analytics professional to lead how Power Operations uses data, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) to improve asset performance, reliability, and decision-making.

In this role, you will support field operations and Asset Compliance by building the metrics, monitoring tools, and AI-enabled solutions that give teams timely, reliable insight into generator performance and operational risk. You will identify and evaluate new AI use cases, apply sound governance, and move quickly from idea to a tested, working solution.

Working with Operations, Asset Compliance, Engineering, Finance, IT, and Cybersecurity, you will draw on data shared across the business. The initial focus is operational and generator-performance analytics, with the opportunity to expand the scope as the program matures.

What you'll do

  • Plan, coordinate, and lead the development of KPIs, dashboards, and analytical tools that meet the information needs of executives, field operations, and Asset Compliance, providing clear visibility into asset and generator performance, reliability, and availability to support both day-to-day and longer-term decisions.
  • Design, build, and maintain monitoring tools that proactively flag emerging performance, reliability, and compliance risks related to generator performance, supporting timely intervention before issues escalate.
  • Analyze event, performance, and operational data to find trends, anomalies, and root causes, and use what you learn to improve monitoring and prevent repeat issues.
  • Analyze complex operational and compliance processes end to end, identify gaps and improvement opportunities, and redesign processes, data flows, and validation steps so information is accurate, complete, and reliable.
  • Lead asset analytics, including benchmarking, operating expense modelling, variance and scenario analysis that help leadership weigh options and make informed decisions on events and initiatives.
  • Track industry developments, including through industry groups and peer forums, and identify and evaluate AI, automation, and advanced-analytics use cases, developing, testing, and implementing practical, well-governed solutions using approved enterprise tools, including AI assistants, agents, and automated workflows.
  • Apply appropriate governance to AI-enabled tools, including human oversight, output validation, data quality, access and permissions, auditability, and ongoing monitoring, in partnership with IT, Cybersecurity, Data Governance, and Compliance.
  • Lead AI adoption and change management across Power Operations by running proofs of concept and pilots, scaling successful solutions, coaching users, and measuring value, adoption, and performance.
  • Support risk-based assurance over data, reports, AI-enabled tools, and compliance controls for reliability and generator performance, and work with Cybersecurity and IT to review evidence, access and change controls, and records for operational technology assets, including exception reporting, audit-ready evidence, and support for audits and self-assessments.
  • Partner with field operations, Asset Compliance, Engineering, Finance, and other teams to translate business problems into practical analytical solutions and turn findings into clear recommendations with both short- and long-term impact that help leaders and field teams act with confidence.

Minimum Qualifications

  • University degree in engineering or engineering technology, data analytics, computer science, mathematics, economics, business, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10 or more years of related experience in analytics, business process analysis, operations, or a related field.
  • Proven experience planning and leading analysis of complex business processes and operational, asset, or performance data, using reporting, business intelligence, or analytical tools, with a strong understanding of how data and systems interrelate.
  • Advanced expertise in at least one specialized discipline, such as business process analysis and redesign, benchmarking, performance measurement, change management, or defining systems requirements, with a solid understanding of several others.
  • Practical experience finding, piloting, or rolling out AI, automation, or advanced-analytics solutions, such as building or testing assistants, agents, or bots with enterprise AI tools. A background in software development or model building is not required.
  • Strong knowledge of how to use AI responsibly, including understanding where models can fall short, the importance of good data, checking outputs, keeping people in the review loop, and scaling controls to the level of risk.
  • Advanced technical skills and the ability to engage effectively with data, engineering, IT, and operations specialists, turning business needs into clear requirements and workable solutions.
  • Strong, independent judgment in selecting and interpreting information, adapting standard methods when needed, and resolving complex problems, along with integrity and the ability to explain technical and risk issues simply to people at all levels.
  • Curious, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a practical approach to turning good ideas into results.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in power generation, energy, utilities, or other asset-intensive operations, including generator performance, availability, or reliability metrics.
  • Experience with Power BI, Excel, Power Query, SQL, Python, or similar tools, and with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power Automate, Copilot, or other enterprise AI and automation platforms.
  • Experience leading technology adoption, proofs of concept, or change management.
  • Experience with maintenance management, operational risk, cost estimating, or financial modelling, and familiarity with SAP or other enterprise asset management systems.
  • Experience with audit, assurance, internal controls, or regulatory compliance, such as NERC reliability standards, CIP cybersecurity requirements, AESO/SPP/ERCOT/PJM market rules.
