Job Responsibilities:
The Project Manager is responsible for the coordination, implementation and execution of payroll projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. For Magna this role requires a strong analytical skillset to be able to work on business requirements together with our cross-functional business ensuring consistency with the Magna strategy, commitments and goals.
Major Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Manage project scope, budget and timelines goals and deliverables.
- Collaboration with Senior Management.
- Liaise with project stakeholders.
- Track project tasks and resource using appropriate tools.
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
- Lead and motivate project team members and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Implement contingency plans as necessary.
- Track project performance against established goals and KPIs.
- Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management.
Knowledge and Education
- Experience with payroll software implementation or transformation projects.
- Knowledge of relevant payroll regulations and compliance requirements is an asset.
- Completion of a degree in Computer Science - or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
- Project management professional (PMP) designation, CAPM, PMP or equivalent certification is an asset.
Work Experience
- Minimum 5 years' progressive experience planning and implementing IT projects with cross-functional stakeholders from IT, Finance and HR.
- Implementation of payroll projects experience preferred.
- Knowledge of the theories, principles and practices project management and organizational change management.
- Project management and supervisory principles and practices to supervise project staff and coordinate multiple complex projects under pressure to meet schedule and budget commitments.
- Project experience based on technologies like MS SQL based web applications, MS Azure, MS PowerBI is an asset.
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent MS Office knowledge.
- MS Project experience is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of Finance processes.
- Basic understanding of IT Infrastructure, network, databases, web applications, data integration.
- Profound English communication skills.
- Solid German communication skills are an asset, but not mandatory.
