We are currently looking for a Project Manager for a 100% remote position supporting a large federal government healthcare modernization project. This role will lead Agile software development teams supporting Department of Veterans Affairs DevSecOps initiatives using SAFe, Scrum, CI/CD, and Agile project management practices. The Project Manager will oversee the full application and systems lifecycle from intake through delivery while ensuring alignment with program objectives, budgets, and schedules.

This role operates within a 100% remote, cross-functional Agile team environment and requires close collaboration with technical leads, development teams, VA leadership, stakeholders, and governance groups.

The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of application and systems projects from intake through customer delivery using the SAFe DevSecOps framework.
  • Lead Agile Scrum teams, products, and processes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Partner with technical leads to support CI/CD pipelines, application delivery, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, costs, performance metrics, and delivery milestones using Agile project management methodologies and tools.
  • Track and report project milestones, risks, dependencies, impediments, and escalation requirements to program leadership and stakeholders.
  • Present project vision, strategy, roadmaps, and planned deliveries to VA leadership and governance groups while coordinating priorities, dependencies, and implementation strategies across the broader portfolio.
  • Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or a related technical discipline and at least 8 years of relevant experience managing IT projects.
  • Extensive experience managing complex, large-scale IT projects throughout the full application or systems development lifecycle.
  • Experience leading Agile Scrum teams and applying lifecycle and project management methodologies within software development environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to track and manage project costs, schedules, performance, risks, dependencies, and delivery progress.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical project activities into executive-level reports, correspondence, and presentations.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, problem-solving, and risk-management skills, with the ability to guide cross-functional teams and operate effectively in high-stress environments.

Additional Qualifications

  • PMP, SAFe, Scrum, or other relevant project management or Agile certification is preferred.
  • Previous IT project management experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs or another federal government agency is preferred.
  • Previous strategic management or management consulting experience is preferred.

Security Clearance Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • All selected candidates must successfully complete a background check.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance, including required fingerprinting, when required for the position.
