What You'll Do 

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Intermediate Purchaser role focuses on supporting the purchasing needs for materials, tools, equipment, and services for projects and operational scopes. The Purchaser is responsible for ensuring that the correct material, equipment, and services are sourced for the projects considering risk profile considerations, and commercial alignment with company and project requirements.


Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:  

  • Support the continual development and standardization of procurement processes at Rising Edge Group.
  • Support junior team members on internal procurement procedures and industry best practice.      
  • Support in the creation of procurement plans using project schedule and risk register on assigned engagements.
  • Review, audit and maintain procurement activities and participate in risk mitigation strategies on projects.
  • Source all required materials and services using internal procurement procedures and industry best practice to ensure favorable risk profile, cost savings, and delivery.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors based on risk profile, project schedule, lead times, scope completeness, pricing, and prequalification requirements.
  • Maintain full-cycle vendor management from sourcing to close-out.
  • Create appropriate documentation in accordance with project requirements and company procedures.
  • Ensure all purchase orders, subcontract agreements, and other procurement related spend contains all pertinent information, and accompanying supporting documentation.
  • Ensure all purchase orders and subcontract agreements are fully executed following the authority approval matrix and thresholds.
  •  Maintain accurate procurement records in company systems including Vista and SharePoint. 
  • Incorporate identified commercial risks and prime contract requirements for flow down incorporation into terms, and negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Participate in prime contract reviews, project kick-offs, and on-going project meetings to develop an understanding of project requirements and legal obligations.
  • Schedule and lead weekly procurement meetings on all active projects.
  • Active communication with vendors to support Procurement Manager with supplier relationship management initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to create efficiencies and drive implement strategy.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Construction Project Management, and 2 years purchasing experience or 4 years of related purchasing experience in construction, utilities, or industrial.
  • Accreditations such as SCMP, PMP, CPIM, CSCP preferred.
  • Increasing responsibilities and complexity of work throughout career.
  • Experience in sourcing, negotiations, and risk mitigation activities.
  • Strong computer skills in a Windows 365, Adobe, ERP systems, Procore, and ProjectTeams preferred.
  • Experience in ViewPoint (Vista) Construction Software preferred.
  • Strong conflict resolution, attention to detail, clear written and verbal communication, organizational discipline, time management, and adaptability.
