Job Description
Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Sales Consultant who is responsible for selling the Company's products and services to both new customer accounts in the United States, within their assigned territory, and equally responsible for cultivating, educating, upselling and retaining the existing customer user base within the assigned territory. This position must understand Insurtech, startups, and small to enterprise independent agency's business plans and identify and convey how Applied's rating integrations can help satisfy their business objectives. While working towards a quota, this role will be compensated in part by base and variable pay as defined in the Compensation Plan distributed annually. This role will partner with the territory sales reps in navigating complex sales engagement as the subject matter expert and sales representative for all rating integration sales, both personal and commercial lines. Up to 75% travel within an assigned territory.
What You'll Do
- Sell, primarily via telephone, but also in person, agencies within the assigned territory to meet/exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals by utilizing Solution Selling guidelines.
- Successfully presents and sells our products and services to independent insurance agencies within their respected territories.
- Follows up with supplied sales leads in a timely fashion.
- Keeps contact with accounts, conducting presentations, delivering proposals, and documenting account history for sales prospects.
- Builds personal networks, including contemporaries, vendors, clients, colleagues, and industry leaders
- Works with sales team and management to identify opportunities outside current prospect base, especially newly funded insurtech companies.
- Help coordinate, identify, and resolve issues and concerns that new clients face navigating through different ASI departments
- Maintain customer relationship after sale to cultivate referral base
- Develop, write correspondence and presentation pieces for prospects and clients
- Keep internal CRM system updated with accurate client and opportunity information and completes any follow up activities in a timely manner
- Communicate with other reps to share industry intelligence
- Pursues a program of self-development using selected reading, seminars, and participation in continuing education.
- Identifies and communicates possible improvements in the work process for customers and peers.
- Consistently meet monthly, quarterly, annual sales and pipeline targets based on both pipeline velocity and win % to sustain quota achievement
- Deliver accurate and timely forecasts (measured monthly by manager)
- Develop and deliver a quarterly business plan demonstrating that there is a firm grasp on the business and an understanding of key actions needed to meet/exceed sales numbers.
What You'll Need to Succeed
We're looking for someone who:
- Can work remotely or from an Applied Systems office in Chicago or Dallas-Fort Worth
Your experience should include some or all the following:
- 5+ years of quota carrying solution sales; InsureTech, complex insurance, IT Startups, or software sales highly preferred
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

- Experience with online D2C sales, marketing a web first business, or business consulting background
