The Scrum Master II will implement the Scrum Framework and Agile processes, facilitate Agile ceremonies, mentor Scrum Masters, manage inter-team dependencies, resolve impediments, and drive program-level objectives to enhance team collaboration and performance.
SUMMARY
As a Scrum Master II, you will take on a pivotal role in implementing the Scrum Framework and Agile processes across multiple Scrum teams. Your mission is to empower these teams to deliver exceptional solutions by fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration. You will act as a key facilitator, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment while managing inter-team dependencies. In this role, you’ll be responsible for driving program-level objectives and working closely with multiple teams to ensure their success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders (Product Managers, RTEs, Product Owners) to ensure strategic initiatives are aligned and delivered on time, focusing on program-level goals.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies for multiple teams and lead team breakout sessions during PI Planning to coordinate dependencies, capacity, and risks.
- Mentor less experienced Scrum Masters, fostering a culture of continuous improvement across multiple teams.
- Coordinate and manage dependencies between teams, ensuring smooth delivery of large program initiatives and alignment during Scrum of Scrums.
- Support the Product Owner by:
- Assisting with managing product roadmaps and team backlogs across multiple teams.
- Coaching teams on backlog management, vertical slicing of stories, and estimating practices.
- Build high-performing, self-organizing teams by creating an environment that enhances collaboration, team dynamics, and cohesion across product verticals.
- Actively resolve cross-team impediments and blockers that could affect program-level progress.
- Leverage Agile metrics to track the performance of multiple teams and provide visibility into program progress and health.
- Ensure smooth alignment of multiple teams during PI Planning, using tools and metrics to drive data-driven decision-making
- Promote the adoption of Agile engineering best practices (TDD, BDD, Pair Programming, CI/CD) across multiple teams to maintain consistency in quality.
MINIMUM SKILLSET:
- BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related area strongly preferred.
- Experience in Project Management and Agile methodologies, with proven success in scaling Agile across multiple teams, typically obtained through 6+ years of experience.
- PMP (Professional in Project Management), Agile & Scrum project management certifications strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Agile tools like Jira, Confluence, Jira Align or similar tools.
- SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM) certification or Scrum.org PSM II preferred.
- Demonstrated success in leading multi-team Agile initiatives, managing complex dependencies, and driving program-level outcomes.
- Experience mentoring and coaching other Scrum Masters.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to foster collaboration across teams and product lines.
- Experience managing complex SaaS product development and delivering solutions across multiple business units.
