Job Description

The Senior Art Director  is responsible for generating ideas, creating concepts for design and layout materials from draft stage through to finished product with their copy partner; working closely with Creative and Client Service teams to ensure adherence to client’s marketing strategies and objectives within specified deadlines. They will also supervise the work of junior creatives on their projects. 

What You'll Do 

  • Lead art direction and visual concepting for multichannel campaigns across pharmaceutical and health clients — owning creative direction from brief intake through production-ready delivery.
  • Develop comprehensive visual systems, design frameworks, and campaign look-and-feel that are strategically grounded, on-brand, and differentiated in the healthcare communications landscape.
  • Direct and mentor junior art directors and designers, providing clear creative feedback, elevating the quality of visual output, and supporting the professional development of the team.
  • Present and defend creative concepts to clients and internal stakeholders, articulating visual rationale with confidence and navigating feedback through iterative rounds.
  • Stay current on design trends, emerging digital formats, accessibility standards, and production capabilities to continuously push the quality and craft of Klick's visual work.

Qualifications

Requirements: 

  • 3+ years of art direction experience in healthcare marketing or a regulated advertising environment, with a portfolio demonstrating concept development and design execution across digital and print channels
  • Proven ability to lead design and concepting on complex, multi-channel campaigns, working independently with minimal supervision and delivering brand-consistent creative
  • Strong collaboration skills with experience working alongside copywriters, strategists, and medical teams to produce integrated creative that meets scientific accuracy and MLR/PRC compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in design tools including Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and other relevant software, with experience managing production workflows and file delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior art directors and provide constructive creative feedback that elevates team work quality and builds creative capability
  • Comfort and enthusiasm for using AI as a regular part of how work gets done

Desired: 

  • Experience across multiple therapeutic areas including oncology, rare disease, cardiovascular, or neurology.
  • Proven ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tools and technologies.
  • Familiarity with digital production workflows, accessibility standards, and responsive design across healthcare digital channels.
  • Exposure to emerging creative technologies including generative AI tools for ideation, asset production, and concepting.

Additional Information

This posting is for a newly created role at Klick.

The base salary range for this position is between CAD $80,000 - $95,000. The final amount offered will be determined based on several factors such as a candidate's work location, their unique skill set, education, and prior work experience.
