We are seeking a talented individual to join our Account Management team at Marsh as Senior Client Advisor - Personal Lines.

This role will be based in Toronto.

This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

You will be joining a positive, dynamic, experienced, and tenured team of insurance professionals who focus on Personal Lines in the High-Net-Worth segment of Marsh’s Private Client Services. The Toronto team is comprised of 15 colleagues including Client Advisors, Client Representatives, and Leadership. Nationally the High-Net-Worth segment consists of approximately 30 colleagues with offices in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto & Montreal.

In the first few months, you will get to know your team, the clients that you will be servicing and the Marsh culture as well as being acquainted and registered for all relevant Marsh Benefits. You will also learn about Marsh processes, workflows, service standards, best practices and compliance and complete all required training courses and modules as they relate. You will also shadow some of your colleagues in the same role and we will arrange for product & portal training with all carriers as needed in addition to ensuring proficiency with our Broker Management System and MS Office applications. 

The applicable base salary range for this role is $83,800 to $167,700.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

We will count on you to:

  • Respond to client requests and inquiries across a number of channels in a prompt and professional manner and ensure timely and accurate completion and/or submission of client requests in accordance with carrier guidelines.
  • Analyze, counsel and recommend coverages, identify and fill coverage gaps, identify cross sell opportunities etc.
  • Provide quotations and market proposals to explain and select coverages based on a thorough discovery and needs analysis and prepare applications and submit in accordance with carrier guidelines and timelines
  • Proactively engage and complete annual renewal reviews to ensure clients ever changing needs from a coverage and pricing perspective are maintained either over the phone or in person visits whenever required
  • Obtain claims information in an empathetic, accurate and delicate manner and submit to the carrier in a timely manner and provide claims education to all clients
  • Possess a growth mindset and strive to close on new business opportunities with a concerted effort in writing profitable business and monitor that profitability going forward
  • Utilize the broker management system in an accurate and timely manner to enter and maintain all prospect & client account information and ensure accounts receivables are always collected and current
  • Establish & maintain strong, productive and ongoing referral relationships both internally & externally as well as with all clients, centers of influence and carrier partners 
  • Proven personal credibility, accountability and acts with integrity and reputation
  • Attend and participate in all mandatory training for compliance, service, product, systems & processes to ensure all regulatory requirements are met and complies with all best practices, professional standards, internal policies, and procedures.
  • Fill all annual insurance licensing requirements and obtain courses and track all necessary hours to keep licenses current and in good standing at all times
  • Set & strive to reach high standards for goals that result in top quality results
  • Exercise sound judgement, strategic thinking, be solution driven and possess strong problem solving skills

What you need to have: 

  • RIBO (Ontario) license
  • 7-10 years experience in Personal Lines industry, with 5+ being within the High-Net-Worth client/market segment
  • Proficiency in Applied Epic or similar Broker Management System
  • A positive attitude with excellent interpersonal, presentation, communication (oral & written) and negotiation skills 
  • Strong organizational & time management skills with a great attention to detail and a proven ability to manage multiple priorities, deliver timely and accurate work with a client service focus
  • Confidence and comfort dealing with successful & accomplished individuals and high-level executives and understanding the importance of responding with a sense of urgency as required

  • Strong insurance knowledge across all asset classes which enables wholesome discussions on various topics such as underwriting, pricing, claims, cross border exposures to name a few
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 products such as Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Teams 
  • Interest in pursuing CAIB, CIP, CRM designations
  • Willing to obtain licenses in other Canadian Provinces if required

Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $83,800 to $133,800.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
