POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for an experienced Senior Commercial Account Manager, Mid‑Market to support entrepreneurs in the Edmonton market. In this role, you will leverage your financial expertise, business development skills, and professional network to deliver customized Financing and Advisory solutions to mid‑market clients with revenues between $3M and $50M. At BDC—the only bank dedicated exclusively to Canadian entrepreneurs—your work contributes directly to the growth and success of Canadian businesses, while allowing you to be yourself at work.


CHALLENGES TO BE MET

In a typical week, you will:

  • Develop and execute a structured action plan aligned with the Business Centre’s objectives to drive portfolio growth, client retention, and acquisition of new self‑sourced business opportunities.

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of mid‑market clients by building long‑term relationships with business owners and senior decision makers.

  • Actively engage with the Fraser Valley business community by networking with local associations, chambers of commerce, and professional partners to generate referrals and new client opportunities.

  • Apply strong analytical, credit judgment, and negotiation skills to structure, present, and recommend financing solutions that meet both client needs and BDC’s risk and credit requirements.

  • Collaborate with internal partners to deliver integrated financing and advisory solutions that support entrepreneurs in improving and growing their businesses.

  



WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, business administration, or a related field

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant client‑facing experience in commercial banking

  • Demonstrated experience in business development, including prospecting, pipeline development, and follow‑up strategies

  • Proven ability to analyze business models, assess client needs, and structure financing solutions

  • Strong negotiation skills with experience influencing and persuading senior business decision makers

  • Ability to manage multiple client files and projects while meeting deadlines

  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills

  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle


Preferred Qualifications

  • Established professional network within Edmonton and the surrounding areas

  • Experience working with mid‑market businesses (revenues between $3M and $50M)

  • Strong understanding of local market trends and entrepreneurial ecosystems
