About the role:

 As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in building the pipelines and systems that power our insights, helping teams across the business move with confidence. You'll collaborate closely with data analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure clean, accessible, and reliable data is always within reach.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that process large volumes of structured and unstructured data—across both batch and streaming systems

• Develop robust, fault-tolerant workflows that ensure accuracy, reliability, and high availability using modern software engineering practices

• Optimize data processing for performance, ensuring low latency and high throughput to support real-time and batch use cases

• Build real-time streaming solutions using tools like Kafka or Kinesis to enable low-latency insights and business responsiveness

• Integrate data from a wide range of sources—cloud, on-prem, internal, third-party—while maintaining consistency and quality

• Proactively monitor and troubleshoot data systems, using structured logging and alerting to reduce downtime and ensure business continuity

• Collaborate with analysts, product, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into scalable, effective technical solutions

• Document architecture, processes, and performance metrics to enable long-term maintainability and team-wide knowledge sharing
  

What you'll Bring

• 5+ years of proven work experience designing and maintaining scalable, high-performance data pipelines and infrastructure

• Must have strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with a proven ability to build reliable and maintainable solutions

• Hands-on experience with real-time data streaming technologies like Kafka or Kinesis

• Deep understanding of data architecture and modeling principles for large-scale systems

• Cloud-native mindset—comfortable deploying modern data infrastructure on AWS (we are an AWS shop), GCP, or Azure (ideally with containers and infrastructure-as-code)

• Familiarity with data governance practices and a commitment to ensuring data integrity, privacy, and usability across teams
