Are you passionate about creating developer-focused documentation that makes complex technology simple? Join us as an Intermediate/Senior Technical Writer and take the lead in reimagining content for Coverity, our cutting-edge static analysis security testing tool. This is your chance to influence documentation strategy, improve user experience, and collaborate with world-class engineers to deliver content that matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and UX teams to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable content.
  • Write developer-facing documentation for Coverity and other Black Duck products.

Key Qualifications

These are the most important requirements.

  • 4+ years of experience as a technical writer. (We’ll accept less on-the-job experience in candidates who have more technical skills.)
  • Experience with at least one programming language.
  • Comfortable in the command-line or (even better) familiar with Bash scripting.
  • Familiarity with Git and GitLab (or similar source control).

Experience with any of the following would make candidates more appealing.

  • Atlassian JIRA and Confluence
  • Agile methodologies
  • Documenting SaaS software
  • Documenting application security software
  • Demonstrated ability to think about and improve the user experience, whether advocating for the user in the Agile process or writing documentation that is easy for customers to us
  • API documentation and OAS3 files
  • Testing API examples with tools like Postman and cURL
  • Docs-as-code workflows and tools (Git, pull requests)
  • DITA markup and the accompanying tools. For example, creating ditamaps, tasks, concepts, and reference topics from scratch; using keys; using a ditaval for conditional processing
Pay Range
$74,400$93,000 CAD
