What you’ll do ​& Who you are

As a Senior UX Designer, you will help create experiences that delight and empower millions of Canadians. Reporting to the Head of UX, you will be an important member of the product & design team. You will play an important and influential role in the design of Kijiji across both web and mobile app. You will create delightful user experiences, which includes conceiving and conducting user research, interviews, and surveys, and translating them into user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, and component, feature and product designs. This is a hybrid role, with an average of 2 days per week spent in our modern office in downtown Toronto.

What you'll do:

  • Lead design projects with a focus on mobile-native experiences and lead projects to set new standards in UX for digital marketplaces.
  • Design new product offerings to expand our reach and user base.
  • Develop user flows, journey maps, and designs that make Kijiji easy and enjoyable to use for both buyers and sellers.
  • Use multiple research methods to gain valuable insights, turning data into design strategies.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other partners to bring ideas to life.
  • Advocate for users and ensure their perspective is central in all product decisions.
  • Improve core features of our platform, boosting marketplace vibrancy along key metrics.
  • Be a design citizen who can mentor junior designers and contribute to a culture of learning and improvement.
  • Become a simplifying champion to help us avoid redundancies.

Who you are:

  • You bring 4+ years of UX design experience.
  • You will have a portfolio that displays your ability to solve complex design challenges.
  • Experience creating responsive, mobile-first designs that work well on all devices.
  • A solid grasp of user-centered design from initial research to final implementation.
  • You are familiar with Agile methodologies and iterative design processes.
  • Prior experience in e-commerce or digital marketplaces would be helpful.
  • Understanding of the Canadian marketplace and consumer behavior.
  • You are interested in new technologies, such as AI, and their potential use in UX.
