Job Description

DESCRIPTION: 

We're seeking an enthusiastic summer student to add to our Marketing, Arts & Events team, to work cross-functionally with our corporate and property teams to create and bring vibrancy to our spaces in the Downtown Core. This role requires a passion for delivering exceptional service, attention to detail, and strong communication skills. You'll play a key part in coordinating campaigns and special events and must have the flexibility to occasionally work evenings, weekends, and holidays. This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience, work on diverse projects, and collaborate with multiple teams, all while learning and creating vibrant spaces.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the planning and execution of engaging tenant events across our Calgary office portfolio, ensuring a memorable experience for guests

  • Coordinate with external vendors to obtain quotes, secure bookings, and manage payments efficiently

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Marketing, Arts & Events team across various events, programs, and marketing initiatives

  • Prepare essential documentation for events, including checklists, and insurance requirements

  • Create compelling social media content and marketing posts to enhance channel engagement

  • Design internal communications and invitations for corporate events

  • Generate and share creative ideas for innovative marketing campaigns, events, and installations that bring vibrancy to our public spaces

  • Contribute to additional tasks and projects as needed, gaining valuable experience along the way

QUALIFICATIONS

SERVICE / PERSONAL SKILLS: 

  • Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills

  • A positive, professional attitude

  • Strong service skills

  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management

  • Proven ability to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and externally

EXPERIENCE & TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Understanding of event logistics, including planning, coordination, and execution

  •  Proficient in social media management, strategy, and content creation

  • Skilled in digital applications, with experience in the following:

    • Microsoft Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

    • Adobe Preliminary graphic design software (such as Canva)

    • Social media platforms (Instagram and LinkedIn)

    • Adobe Suite applications (Illustrator and/or InDesign) are considered an asset

EDUCATION / DESIGNATIONS / LICENSES:

  • High School Diploma

  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary, working towards a marketing or arts designation is an asset
