OVERVIEW 

Vertex is currently accepting applications for experienced full-time Swampers in Calgary, Alberta. The successful candidates must have previous Swamper experience working in Hydrovac units or similar. We are committed to growing the capabilities of our employees. Preference will be given to candidates with experience and valid Safety tickets.

Position Location: Rocky View, AB

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Comply with Company policies and procedures, health and safety procedures, department of transportation and hazardous materials/waste requirements and regulations
  • Assist operators during Hydrovac operations
  • Perform maintenance on units to ensure cleanliness and efficient operation
  • Receptive to receiving task delegation and coaching from operator and supervisor
  • Ensure customer and client satisfaction by always providing excellent customer service
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork and documentation properly within set timelines this includes daily logs, dispatch & trip reports, and time sheets
  • Follow all local, provincial, and federal compliance regulations and rules
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, follow company policies & procedures for routine maintenance, perform general housekeeping to ensure units are operating properly, and report any inefficiency to supervisor
  • Practice and participate in all company health and safety operating guidelines, policies, and procedures. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean commercial drivers abstract (previous 5 years)
  • Minimum of 1 years' experience as a Hydrovac/Combovac Swamper is required
  • Possess safety tickets including but not limited to First Aid/CPR, Ground Disturbance Level II Supervisory, Confined Space, H2S Alive, Fall Protection
  • Must be able to successfully pass a 13-panel drug and alcohol test
  • Demonstrate a commitment to environmental compliance and safe work practices
  • Ability to work independently while efficiently managing time and productivity
  • Must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned
  • Integrity and reliability, willing to accept after hour calls when necessary
