About this opportunity:

The Tax Analyst, Planning & International will focus about 70% of their time on assisting our TP team in preparation of the transfer pricing documentation including but not limited to contemporaneous documentation, BEPS Pillar Two reporting, benchmarking studies and domestic tax information returns. The remainder time will be supporting the P&I team on other deliverables including but not limited (tax research and memo writing, tax audit support, project work). This job will be suited for candidates that have strong analytical, accounting and communications skills.

What you’ll do:

• Prepare and maintain transfer pricing documentation, including but not limited to contemporaneous documentation, BEPS Pillar Two reporting, benchmarking studies, domestic tax information returns, and inter-company transaction analysis

• Prepare and file Canadian international tax filings, for instance, T106s, T1134s, T1135s and the equivalent forms required in foreign jurisdictions where applicable

• Conduct tax research and write tax technical memo

• Support Cenovus's integrated business and various business units involved

• Assist with tax or business projects and provide support on tax-related matters

• Stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance

• Respond to daily ad hoc internal requests

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

• Legally authorized to work in Canada

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or economics

• Completion of a recognized accounting designation (CPA, CGA, CMA)

• 5+ years working experience in tax

• Oil and gas industry experience considered an asset

• Experience in transfer pricing in North America or in Asia Pacific

• Working knowledge with SAP (running GL details, financial information, etc.) considered an asset
