Our Underwriting Managers customize solutions for our commercial clients as well as guide and coach a team of underwriters. They work closely with our extensive broker network to develop unique solutions for all classes of risk. They are people-centric leaders who truly care about the development of their teams and invest in their career growth.
They are passionate about maintaining strong relationships with our brokers – this means emails and phone calls don’t go unanswered, and in-person broker meetings are regularly penned into their calendars. They also pay attention to the smallest of details, work closely with our Actuarial and Claims Departments.

As an Underwriting Manager with a primary focus on technical leadership, they will play a critical part in mentoring, developing, and supporting underwriting staff through quality reviews, training and technical workshops, and complex referral support.

If you are great at:

  • Commercial underwriting

  • Responsible for the successful evaluation, documentation, selection, negotiation, and pricing for assigned policies

  • Sales & Negotiation

  • Develop and maintain a professional relationship with brokers and/or customers

  • Coaching & Mentoring

  • Operational leadership

If you have:

  • 10+ years of P&C Underwriting experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience, in a technical, senior or informal leadership capacity

  • Experience with overseeing change management

  • Completed, or pursuing your CIP, FCIP, or RPLU designations

  • Strong customer service background

We’re committed to pay transparency and fairness. The base salary range for this role is $115,000 - $145,000, which reflects the expected base pay – not the total compensation package. The actual base salary may vary depending on your experience, skills, and alignment with the position. We’re also open to candidates at different levels, so if this range doesn’t quite match your expectations, don’t let that hold you back — we’d still love to hear from you.
