What's It Like to Work at FloQast?

FloQast Employee Perspectives

What is your role, and what attracted you to FloQast? Describe the moment when you knew you’d found the right fit.

I am an engineering manager at FloQast with 15 years of experience, including more than a decade at startups. I love building things, understanding them and improving them. Startups have given me the chance to be deeply hands-on not just with technology but also in hiring, coaching and helping teams grow at every level. That blend of technical and leadership opportunities is what I find fulfilling, and it’s what drew me to FloQast.

One of the things that caught my attention was the company’s engineering blog. It signaled to me that this was a place where bright, passionate people cared about what they were building and were also proud to share their work. That transparency and enthusiasm speaks volumes about culture. Moreover, I knew I had found the right fit when I first met the members on my team. Every person I spoke with was genuinely engaged not just in the technical side of their work but in the bigger picture of why we build what we build. Too often in engineering, teams get caught up in the “what” and lose sight of the “why.” At FloQast, that connection is never lost and the clarity of purpose stuck with me.

What’s your favorite part about working at FloQast?

Without a doubt, the collaborative culture. In an increasingly remote world, it’s rare to find an environment where cross-team communication feels effortless. At FloQast, people across all departments are eager to jump in, whether it’s answering a question, lending a hand or hopping on a call. That level of support and teamwork makes a huge difference. One of my favorite aspects of this culture is how open and approachable everyone is, regardless of title or department. If you have an idea, people listen. If you need help, someone is always willing to step up. This type of environment is a real incubator for innovation, because people feel comfortable sharing and iterating ideas at every level.

There’s an emphasis on continuous improvement not just in our products but also in how we work. Whether it’s refining processes, mentoring newer team members or improving how we interface with our customers, there’s a strong mindset of growth. Some of the most rewarding projects I’ve worked on have been those where we partnered closely with customers to make their lives easier in practical ways. It’s incredibly fulfilling to collaborate with users who are excited that we listen to, respond and execute on features that make a difference in their daily operations. There’s something special about working at a company that values customer feedback and turns it into meaningful action.

What advice would you give to job seekers looking to join your growing team?

Come ready to learn and grow. FloQast is a place where motivated individuals can have a real impact, and there are no limits to the ways we can improve our customers’ lives. If you're excited about solving meaningful problems, working with a passionate team, and continuously pushing yourself to improve, you’ll thrive here. Beyond technical skills, one of the most valuable traits is curiosity. The best engineers I’ve worked with aren’t just great at writing code — they ask questions, challenge assumptions and think critically about how to make things better. If that sounds like you, this is a place where you’ll have real opportunities to contribute and grow. And the last piece of advice: Be ready to embrace the collaborative culture. Be proactive, communicate openly and don’t hesitate to reach out to people across different teams. Some of the best ideas and solutions come from those unexpected cross-functional conversations. If you take the time to understand FloQast’s mission and how your role contributes to it, you’ll find that engineers here don’t just write code — we solve real problems for real customers. The more you connect with that, the more rewarding your work will be.
