- Contribute to the preparation of continuous disclosure documents, including AltaGas’ consolidated financial statements, MD&A, and AIF.
- Research and document complex accounting matters.
- Prepare clear, concise documentation to support financial reporting and audit requirements.
- Coordinate information requests and support quarterly and annual reporting processes.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
- Support the enhancement and maintenance of financial reporting processes and internal controls.
- Monitor developments in U.S. GAAP and regulatory disclosure requirements.
- Participate in ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA designation required
- 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Experience with financial systems (e.g., JDE, Oracle, Wdesk) is an asset
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight reporting deadline
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively across functional groups
