About the Team
Our team is made up of nine professionals from across Canada. Our mission is to effectively and efficiently communicate corporate strategy and process changes to the Claims side of the organization. We communicate and explain changes, move the business forward, and help deliver results by engaging and informing employees. We facilitate how and when information is shared, so that employees can put their talent and energy to work for customers.
We act as consultants and trusted advisors, understanding the strategy and making recommendations on the development of messages and information, the choice of communication media and message planning. We design messages to suit the target audience. We research, write, edit and publish communications. Our internal partners present us with their respective needs, and we provide them with the communications solution.
About the role
Reporting to the Manager, Communications – Claims, the Communications Advisor II will participate in the development and implementation of the regional and national communications strategies in Claims.
Your work will involve:

Develop and support integrated, clear and concise communication strategies, plans, programs and materials for employees, customers and brokers.

Ensure all communications support the organization’s brand and image and promotes achievement of the organization’s objectives.

Act as the point of contact for communication matters to department leaders (at all levels) and staff on the development and execution of communication strategies and deliverables that are creative, effective and reflect high quality work.

Oversee requests from various stakeholders and thoughtfully create and edit a wide variety of communication materials (e.g. key messages, communication plans, tactical deliverables, etc.).

Ensure alignment of stakeholder feedback

Act as communications lead on projects and create communication plans and manage related initiatives from start to finish.

Provide writing, editing and ongoing maintenance support for all internal and external print and digital assets and presentations.

Plan and coordinate events aimed at internal and external audiences.

Plan human, material and technical resources; develop appropriate communication material; manage budgets and ensure that the activities related to these events go smoothly.

Build strong relationships with internal business partners and colleagues across the organization.

Collaborate effectively within the Claims Communications team and management to ensure consistency and best practices.

Coordinate and maintain the team’s planner and progress of projects and initiatives
Required Skills and experience:
-
Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, relevant discipline or combination of backgrounds.

At least 3-7 years of experience working in communications and corporate events

Excellent writing, interpersonal and communication skills
-
Demonstrates creativity, a positive attitude and a solution-oriented approach
-
Takes initiative, thinks critically, is detail-oriented and excels in a fast-paced environment
-
Proficiency in MS Office suite of tools

Knowledge of current trends in Web communication, digital tools and the use of multimedia, an asset
-
Knowledge of the insurance industry is an asset
-
No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada
