Temporary indeterminate position (replacement of maternity leave).

As a communications advisor at Desjardins Ontario Credit Union, the incumbent assists, supports and advises caisse managers in selecting, applying and implementing communications solutions, practices, programs and tools. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Help determine the caisse’s community development priorities and implement the resulting action plan

  • Work with the caisse’s general manager and officers to plan, carry out and monitor activities related to cooperative and associative affairs

  • Carry out communication activities and consultations with members and clients for the cooperative and associative affairs components and represent the caisse in the community

  • Promote and support the implementation of various programs related to the caisse’s cooperative and associative affairs

  • Monitor certain programs dedicated to the youth client segment by taking charge of school caisse and student activities, and by creating and maintaining links with the school community

  • Educate officers, managers, employees, members and clients and promote the cooperative difference by participating in the process to welcome them

  • Support the general management team and officers in their efforts to raise the caisse’s profile and presence in the community and maintain business relationships with various clients and organizations in the community

  • Help organize the logistics for various caisse events (e.g., annual general meeting, special meeting), primarily for the cooperative and associative affairs components. Collaborate on inter-cooperation initiatives

  • Receive, analyze and recommend requests for sponsorships, donations and subscriptions, and follow up as needed on funding granted

  • Collaborate on intercooperation initiatives.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Advanced proficiency of French and English, both oral and written due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with english-speaking partners, members and/or clients

  • Available to work according to a schedule that may exceed the Caisse's standard business hours, depending on events, activities and social implications
