About the CORE

The CORE is Calgary’s only downtown shopping centre. A mixed-use property connected to three major office towers (TD Canada Trust Tower, Home Oil and Dome Tower) and the historic Lancaster Building, Connected to neighbouring retail complexes and over 150 surrounding office towers through the Plus 15 skywalk system. 

Position Description

Assist the Marketing Manager, as required, on planning and execution of all advertising, sales promotion, and special events. Assist in developing correspondence with customers, retailers, office tenants and partners. Manage day to day social media communications. Maintain the filing system, handle daily reconciliation of gift cards, and other administrative tasks as assigned by management. This role requires some evenings and weekends, particularly leading up to and during Stampede and holiday season however, other hours outside of regular business hours may be required from time to time.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

Administration

  • Provide administrative support to Marketing Manager including filing system, maintain current records of all advertising materials and other administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Oversee and maintain daily reconciliation of gift cards
  • Oversee and maintain tracking of daily tally report
  • Oversee and maintain cheque reconciliation tracker
  • Oversee and maintain gift card promotion program tracking
  • Monitor general mall information inbox and respond to inquiries
  • Generate and track purchase orders as requested 
  • Generate, track, and maintain cheque request paperwork
  • Schedule meetings, marketing events, etc. in Outlook Calendar
  • Collect, oversee, and maintain waivers
  • Collect and file COIs, WCB clearance letters, and Work Authorization Forms from vendors

Web Content

  • Maintain and coordinate the CORE’s website to ensure content is up to date and accurate
  • Ensure all information on the website supports and represents the CORE brand.
  • Work with CORE tenants to post job listings, promotions, and updated store information
  • Write and post event listings

Reports

  • Monthly reporting of relevant website, social media, newsletter, and gift card metrics including but not limited to; pageviews, followers, reach, sales, etc.
  • Complete marketing postmortem reports
  • Monthly reconciliation of gift card sales details

Social & Mobile Marketing

  • Maintain, monitor, and manage the CORE’s social media accounts.
  • Create interactive opportunities with tenants and customers integrating web, mobile and social media marketing tactics.
  • Create a monthly social media schedule.
  • Collaborate with tenants and partners to develop giveaways.
  • Management and monitoring of social media giveaways.

Newsletter, Memos, & Tenant Communications

  • Consistently produce, curate, and deploy subscriber newsletter with relevant content.
  • Produce, curate, and deploy quarterly newsletters specific to retail and the individual office buildings.
  • Assist with producing, curating, and deploying marketing memorandums to retail and office tenants.
  • Effectively foster tenant relationships.
  • Acting as a point of contact to answer questions and collect feedback to continuously improve the tenant experience.
  • End to end communication and coordination with vendors, partners, and tenants.

In-Mall Signage

  • Coordinate production and installation of in-mall signage in collaboration with the Marketing Manager.
  • Create/design signage as requested by management

Gift Card Program

  • Work with Marketing Manager to develop new gift card promotions while elevating existing promotions. 
  • Monitor and report results for all gift card campaigns.
  • Reconciliation of monthly gift card sales details.

Mall Décor

  • Oversee the installation and dismantle of décor.

Events & Activations

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of centre events.
  • Help identify and implement opportunities that support the CORE brand.
  • Establish the planning and coordination of social media as it pertains to each event
  • Communicate coordination of planned events with partners.
  • Be present to manage and monitor site events.

Office Programs

  • Assist the Marketing Manager with management of the portfolio’s tenant experience platforms and hubs for upcoming event details, community information, building amenities and more to maximize office tenant satisfaction as it relates to the portfolio’s offerings.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of various office tower tenant appreciation events and promoting office tower amenities.

Miscellaneous

  • Assist with research as required.
  • Attend status meetings with the Marketing Manager.
  • Seek new opportunities to integrate the CORE website and social marketing tactics to promote the brand.
  • Assist Marketing Manager, as required on special projects related to both retail and office.
  • Additional tasks as assigned by management.  

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in event management, social media, and marketing
  • Prior experience in a marketing, advertising, and customer service environments
  • Hands on experience in social media marketing
  • Prior experience in the planning and execution of events is an asset
  • Prior experience working in commercial property management is an asset but not required.
  • Strong computer literacy: knowledge of Microsoft applications, internet/web capabilities, social media applications, and Outlook
  • Experience and ability to use Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite applications
  • Bookkeeping and record keeping skills
  • Self-motivated 
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to quickly pivot and adapt to changes
  • Exceptional time management and ability to efficiently multitask is a requirement
  • Strong organizational skills
  • A high level of creativity and energy along with positive attitude, upbeat personality and overall enthusiasm is key in this role
  • A highly entrepreneurial, energetic, and collaborative person who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility with hours – evening and weekend events, especially around and during the holiday season will be required





The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.


The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.


The compensation for the position is: $ 51,851.70 - $61,002.00
