What's the Work-Life Balance Like at Zapier?
Zapier Employee Perspectives
Zapier supports employees with a culture of trust, flexibility and care that makes it easier to protect their well-being at work. From flexible time off to access to coaching and mental health resources, the company gives team members the space and support they need to recharge, grow and bring their best selves to work.
“Coming from a past career in finance, I can confidently say that Zapier prioritizes employee well-being in a way that feels completely different from what I was used to before. One of the biggest examples is our flexible time off policy, where managers default to approving requests and there is no need to justify time off. This makes it easy to step away and recharge whenever I start to feel burned out. Zapier also provides access to Wellness Coach, which offers personal sessions with therapists and coaches. I have been able to work with a coach for a few years, and it has had a lasting impact on my mental health and personal growth.”

Zapier supports employees in taking meaningful parental leave by building teams that respect boundaries and plan around time away. With clear expectations, trusted coverage and a culture that does not pressure employees to stay connected, team members can step fully into family life knowing their work is in good hands.
“There were several key things that made the extended leave work. The first was my team. They knew I would be gone, and there was no expectation (written or unwritten) that I would stay connected. No emails, no chat mentions, no text messages or phone calls that I had to answer. My team respected that boundary, and it was a big relief. They would occasionally CC me on emails or mention me in threads that I might want to know about when I got back, but the intention was to keep me informed, not require input.”
