The Opportunity
The Short-Term Planning team is seeking a candidate with strong collaboration and analytical skills who strives for continuous improvement and is eager to gain a comprehensive understanding of TC Energy’s business including key financial and corporate metrics.
This position will work closely with other members of the team and business unit colleagues to prepare monthly capital expenditure information for senior management discussion and decision-making. Annually, this role will be responsible for preparation and analysis of TC Energy’s short-term financial plan where planning ahead, attention to detail and the ability to think broadly are critical to success.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with business unit colleagues to prepare monthly consolidated capital forecast, including materials for ELT and Capital Allocation Committee meetings
- Provide Investor Relations with consolidated plan information on a quarterly basis
- Compile and draft accurate and timely information for the consolidated short-term financial plan which is approved by TC Energy’s Board of Directors annually
- Gather and analyze relevant information to develop the short-term financial plan
- Contribute to the continued improvement of forecast and planning processes across the organization
- Ad hoc analysis as required
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 6 years of progressive Accounting or Finance related experience
- Undergraduate degree in business, finance or related discipline
- Post graduate qualification (CPA, CFA, MBA)
- Knowledge of consolidation accounting, financial statement presentation and US GAAP
- Excellent communication and organization skills with keen attention to detail
- Strong analytical thinker and strives to gain understanding
- Aptitude for seeking opportunities to work more efficiently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of SAP/BPC would be an asset
- Familiarity with TC Energy’s four operating segments
